The FACULTY FOOD SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING (FSIA) is organised in three departments Biochemistry and Technologies, Bioengineering in Food Industrie and Environment Protection, Fishing and Aquaculture.
FSIA is the major Romanian food research and high education centre and is well recognized at international level for its exceptional human resources, research collaborations.
As an educational institute FSIA offers to its students the possibility of a complete training including bachelor, master and doctorate studies.
FSIA is well equipped with analytical instruments and has several pilot plants (milling and baking, meat, milk, waste treatment) and laboratories with specific application in quality and safety aspects of primary products from agricultural livestock, desired and undesired nutritional properties of food, chemical, biochemical, physical, (micro)biological and sensory characterisation of food, nature and properties of enzymes, microbiology and hygiene of foodstuff, interrelationships of foodstuff contents, with endogenous and exogenous parameters and toxicological aspects of food, food processing and unit processes.
